Testimonials

"As a coach, Dan has given me the encouragement, tools, and knowledge to set and achieve goals in running and triathlon that I never thought would be possible. In a little over a year, I went from not being able to run a mile, to finishing 2 full marathons, 2 triathlons, and Dan will continue to coach me while I train for my ultimate goal of Ironman Lake Placid. He takes time to get to know your needs as an athlete, history, and concerns, therefore making those goals attainable. As someone who is relatively new to the sport, he is proactive and frequently reaches out with advice and resources that he knows would be helpful. He is patient and responds quickly to any questions that I have. Dan shares his wealth of experience and knowledge, and continuously seeks opportunities to learn more. Most of all, his athlete plans are systematic, data driven, easy to understand, include clear expectations, and are strategic and personalized to your goals/strengths/weaknesses. I have 100% confidence in his method and trust the process completely, and I know I will be able to achieve my goals with Dan as my coach!"

"Passion, determination and the genuine want to improve yourself are three traits every athlete needs and Dan Szajta has all three. Not only is he an accomplished athlete, he is a passionate and determined coach who cares for and pushes his athletes to succeed their goals.

With the use of Addaero, Dan writes custom plans that take into account my strengths, weaknesses, injuries and goals for the season. He teaches me race strategy, how not to get injured, how to use a heart rate monitor, he challenges me and let's me know that I am talented. He provides a supportive and tough love balance, which I need for my own stubbornness. He provides a foundation of knowledge and is an inspiration to keep pushing for that lifelong goal. He pushes me to be better, to train more efficiently and effectively than I had previously done and he supports me through the roller coaster associated with triathlon.

Having a coach who is there for you, who pushes you, who challenges you and most importantly believes in you, is a coach you should want to have, and Dan provides all of that. I made the change of coaches months ago, and I was a little wary about it, but Dan has proven he wants the best for me and I have never second guessed my decision since then. I know my triathlon career is in good hands and I'm excited to see what the new season brings. I highly recommend Coach Dan Szajta!"

“Training for this sport is grueling and very complicated. Finding a coach is critical and I was fortunate to land with GrnMchn and Dan Szajta. His approach and style fits me well, and I can’t say enough about him. I have always felt that he puts me first before himself and that he is just as invested in my success as his own which is so rare. I am looking forward to continuing to work with him for the 2018 season.”

I have been working with Dan since December 2017. Growing up as an elite competitive swimmer, athletics has always been a significant part of my life. Now, as a coach to age group swimmers, I fully understand the benefits and importance of proper coaching. When I decided to start participating in multisport events, I knew Dan was the coach I should reach out to.

Dan is the head coach and founder of Grn Mchn Multisports in Richmond, Virginia. To say he is excellent at coaching would be an understatement. Having a tremendous amount of race experience, including being an Ironman World Championship qualifier, he shares in-depth knowledge to help his athletes achieve success. While coaching several runners, triathletes, and swimmers he also works a full-time teaching job and finds the time for his own personal training.

Dan teaches his athletes about proper pacing using targeted heart rate zones, workout and race day fueling, nutritional needs, and recovery techniques. He provides frequent positive feedback and constructive criticism while utilizing the tools provided by TrainingPeaks to give athletes a detailed analysis of their workouts. TrainingPeaks allows Dan to easily communicate with athletes and allows flexibility when dealing with an individual’s schedule. With this, he gives athletes the confidence they need to achieve momentous athletic achievements. Dan also does a fantastic job of connecting all his athletes for support and camaraderie; allowing him to be building the team of athlete’s coaches desire.

I am proud to call myself a member of Grn Mchn Multisports, and I would highly recommend Dan to any athlete looking for coaching.

"Dan has been working with me for the last 3 years and the results are astonishing! His constant feedback on daily workouts, nutrition plans, and strategy at attacking triathlons is unmatched. Dan altered my plan to fit my goals and lifestyle, taking the thinking out of my hands. I have never performed better in races and training than I do now using his SMART plans. 'Trust the Process'"

"Training for triathlon as a complete beginner seemed like an insurmountable task. Coach Dan was patient, informative, and brought me from zero (including no swimming experience) to completing a sprint, Olympic, and half-Ironman in one season with no injuries. He is the real deal."

"Coach Dan is the model coaching machine.  He is consistent, persistent and leads by example.  Over the last three years he has taken me step by step through a transformation of how I think about and experience my training and it has yielded great results.  His comprehensive approach has helped me understand and adapt my nutrition, get the right results from each type of workout and achieve some nice AG placements.

The value of Dan’s coaching for me is best measured in my continued progress and ability to keep enjoying the sport, even as I get older and my body sometimes resists.  Since starting coaching with Dan I have gone the longest period without injury in my entire two + decade training and racing career. Dan’s coaching style is both supportive and disciplined creating a team environment that recognizes everyone’s shared successes and pushing each individual athlete to go a little farther, a little faster and get a little fitter in pursuit of our personal goals."

"I've been working with Coach Dan going into my second season now and couldn't be happier.  As a former college swimmer, I had been looking for a competitive outlook to get involved with for a few years but wasn't sure what to try.  I reached out to Dan and he walked me through his whole training process to make sure I was comfortable before diving in.

Coming in with limited knowledge of the sport, it was great having both Dan, as well as the tight-knit and friendly teammates of Grn Mchn Multisports to guide me through getting accustomed to workouts, researching and purchasing tri equipment and any other questions that have come up along the way.

Coach Dan provides constructive feedback through each weekly phase and isn't afraid to push you both in his workout feedback, and in his goal setting for the season.  His guidance leading up to big races, and the plans he puts together to help execute these events are incredibly helpful and mesh with the training you have been doing in the months leading up to your race.  I would hands-down recommend his services to any experienced triathlete or someone like me who got into the support more recently. The Grn Mchn camaraderie and culture that Dan has build are really something special."
